Major Jones Pool

Creel Lodge has been owned by Peter Deakin for over 20 years.

Peter Deakin, owner operator, fisherman. Creel Lodge.

Peter now lives at the Lodge having recently retired as a successful deep sea commercial fisherman.

Peter's adventures have taken him sailing around Cape Horn from Tasmania to Whitby, (the home port of Captain Cook) on the Replica HMS Bark Endeavour.

Since arriving back on terra firma Peter has continued a dream to make Creel Lodge a very special place to stay.

Creel Lodge Office

Peter is also an accomplished fresh-water and salt-water fly fisherman. When not fishing you will see Peter working around the Lodge, always busy; introducing locally carved Punga trees, and building river stone walls - you can't miss him, he's the chap in the blue overalls.

Each year our regular guests from New Zealand and around the globe return to Creel Lodge, revisiting happy memories and creating new ones, and introducing their families and friends to this special place.

Where ever your home is, we welcome you to the very different experience that Creel Lodge offers and expect that you will come back again and again.
